LHH is representing a highly recognizable, global manufacturing organization in its search for an Assistant Controller. This is a key leadership role within a dynamic, international finance team. The position offers high visibility and the opportunity to make a significant impact within a sophisticated, IFRS-reporting environment.

Position Overview

The Assistant Controller will be responsible for overseeing core accounting functions and supporting the month-end close and reporting processes. This individual will work closely with both domestic and international teams, including global headquarters, and will contribute to strengthening internal controls, enhancing reporting processes, and mentoring team members. The role is ideal for a CPA with a strong technical foundation, prior public accounting experience, and a background in manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including lease accounting, fixed assets, accruals, prepaids, and accounts payable
• Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with IFRS
• Prepare and deliver detailed financial reporting packages, providing variance analysis and insight into trends for executive leadership
• Collaborate cross-functionally with global finance teams to support consolidated reporting and ensure alignment with group standards
• Maintain strong internal control processes and ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulatory requirements
• Serve as a key partner to the Controller in setting strategic direction for the accounting function and implementing process improvements
• Support the planning and execution of internal and external audits, including the coordination of timelines, documentation, and communication with auditors
• Oversee the preparation and review of journal entries and account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Supervise and mentor the Accounts Payable team, providing guidance, training, and support for continued professional development
• Assist with complex or non-recurring transactions, working alongside technical accounting and financial systems teams
• Partner with finance leadership to assess and optimize the use of accounting systems and tools
• Monitor and review expense report submissions, and perform timely resolution of discrepancies
• Contribute to special projects and perform other related duties as needed to support department and company goals

Qualifications

• CPA required
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience
• Big 4 public accounting background strongly preferred
• Experience in the manufacturing industry (either through audit or direct employment)
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and experience working in a global, multinational environment
• 10% annual bonus
