Job summary

Champion Home Builders, Inc. seeks an Assistant Controller for our Claysburg, PA manufacturing facility. The role is groomed for future Controller responsibilities, with exposure to monthly closes, policy oversight, and cost accounting.

This position offers opportunities to grow in a respected manufacturer. Ideal candidates have a BSc/BA in accounting or finance, 1–2 years of manufacturing accounting experience, and strong GAAP knowledge, with proficiency in Excel and SAP.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an assistant controller or similar position.
• Solid knowledge of GAAP and regulations.
• Excellent knowledge of accounting and financial processes (budgeting, financial close, reporting).
• Working knowledge of MS Office and accounting software (e.g. SAP).
• Professional certification (e.g. CPA) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Controller in overseeing proper accounting policy.
• Assist the Controller in balance sheet analysis of key accounts.
• Prepare monthly Financial Statements in accordance with GAAP/CEI principles.
• Learn payroll, purchasing, sales, and service interrelations for month-end statements.
• Learn standard cost system and its relation to pricing and month-end statements.
• Troubleshoot accounting department, systems, or procedures.
