Job summary

Morgan Advanced Materials is seeking a Finance Controller to lead financial operations within the Global Business Unit. The role focuses on accurate monthly and year-end closing, journal entries, reconciliations, and robust financial reporting for internal and corporate use.

You will oversee cost accounting, AP/AR, GL activities, and potentially payroll, while ensuring internal controls and compliance. Provide budgeting support, variance analysis, audits, and process improvements with a hands-on

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree or CPA certification is a plus.
  • Experience in financial reporting and control, ideally within a multinational manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience (typically 5-8 years) in accounting or finance roles, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and compliance regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Experience with ERP systems is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to advise on Finance and control matters.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast‑paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Support Finance Controller in managing financial operations of the GBU and ensure compliance with policies as well as maintaining the integrity of financial processes.
  • Prepare monthly and year-end closing activities, journal entries, reconciliations and financial reports.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and issue accurate and timely monthly and annual financial reports for internal and corporate use, supporting the monthly forecast.
  • Finance Oversight: Oversee finance activities, including cost accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger activities and potentially payroll.
  • Compliance: Ensure robust internal controls and documentation to comply with financial regulations and group policies. Assist with internal and external audits.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Support the annual budget preparation and reporting, developing tools for future use. Monitor performance against the budget and provide variance analysis.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Prepare or ensure the preparation of reports required by regulatory agencies.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to provide insights into financial performance, trends, and variances. Assist in financial modelling and scenario analysis.
  • Team Management: Supervise and mentor finance staff. Provide guidance and support for their professional development.
  • Ad-hoc Projects: Assist with special projects and analysis as needed, including system implementations and process optimizations.
