Job summary

Rumpke Waste and Recycling is seeking an Assistant Controller to help lead a best‑practices financial framework and partner with regional, area, and corporate leadership. The role focuses on continuous process improvements, forecasting results, and maintaining data integrity across the organization.

The AC will work to ensure GAAP compliance, establish SOPs, and drive improvements in financial processes. A strong background in US GAAP, SAP, and 5+ years of finance experience is required; MBA is

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of US GAAP.
• 5+ years of account/finance experience.
• MBA preferred.
• SAP or other ERP experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of data integration points and dashboards preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assure that financial income and expenditure transactions and records are in compliance with GAAP.
• Monitor and adjust workflow and assignments to meet deadlines.
• Assist with year-end audit and internal reviews to reduce adjustments.
• Develop SOPs and maintain training materials in a centralized repository.
• Identify and implement improvements to financial processes and internal controls.
• Drive continuous process improvements across finance and reporting workflows.
• Collaborate with Finance Business Process Lead to resolve issues efficiently.
