Capriotti's Sandwich Shop in Las Vegas, NV is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to join our Finance & Accounting team. You will oversee day-to-day accounting operations, support financial reporting and analysis, drive process improvements, and partner with leadership to ensure accurate financial information that supports strategic decision-making.

Key responsibilities include managing daily operations (AP, AR, GL), leading monthly closes with a seven‑day timeline, preparing GAAP

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience expected.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and GAAP required.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills essential.
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities required.
• Experience in restaurant/franchise/hospitality/retail industries a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily accounting operations including banking, AP, AR, and GL.
• Lead and support monthly, quarterly, and annual closes with a seven‑day close timeline.
• Prepare and review GAAP financial statements.
• Develop financial reports, KPI dashboards, variance analyses, and ad hoc reports for leadership.
• Oversee franchise accounting activities including royalties, fees, and reconciliations.
• Coordinate annual audit prep with external auditors and tax professionals.
• Prepare and file annual personal property tax returns for multiple entities.
• Manage workers' compensation premium audits and related reporting.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls, and systems.
• Assist with implementation of new technologies, policies, and procedures.
• Mentor accounting staff and promote accountability and growth.
