Job summary

CFS is seeking an Assistant Controller to own accounting across property management, development, brokerage, and corporate operations in a hands-on leadership role. You will partner with senior leadership to deliver financial insights and drive key decisions for a growing commercial real estate platform.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including real estate exposure.
• CPA preferred but not required.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and real estate accounting practices.
• Advanced Excel skills and real estate software proficiency (Yardi/MRI).

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end and year-end close, consolidated financial reporting, forecasting, treasury, and cash management.
• Oversee property management accounting, including budgeting, reconciliations, financial analysis, banking activity, and client reporting.
• Manage development and construction accounting, including job costs, draw requests, lender packages, and budget-to-actual reporting.
• Maintain brokerage revenue schedules and oversee commission accounting, receivables, and closing reconciliations.
• Coordinate audits, tax filings, compliance requirements, and internal control enhancements.
