The accounting team plays a critical role in our fast moving business. As an Assistant Controller at BlueConic, you will support the Director of Finance in leading a team of accounting and finance professionals in multiple countries and play a hands-on role evolving our financial processes to support the next stage of our growth.

Your expertise with NetSuite and familiarity with international accounting practices, particularly in the Netherlands, will be instrumental as we scale our global operations. You will also play a key role in identifying and leveraging AI-powered tools to streamline processes, reduce manual workloads, and improve decision-making across finance functions.

In this role you will:
  • Financial Operations and Reporting: Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings ensuring accurate and timely GAAP-compliant reporting. Assist with consolidating multi-entity financial statements and managing intercompany transactions.
  • Technical Accounting: Research and apply technical accounting standards to complex business transactions (e.g., revenue recognition, lease accounting, equity accounting, and business combinations). Serve as the go-to internal expert for interpreting and implementing new accounting standards (ASC updates, SEC reporting guidance, etc.).
  • General Ledger and Month-End Close: Administer and optimize the use of NetSuite for financial and operational reporting, process automation, and compliance. Manage journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analyses.
  • Audit & Compliance: Coordinate annual audits and ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and tax regulations.
  • Cash Management: Support treasury functions, including cash flow forecasting, banking relationships, and currency risk management.
  • Tax Compliance: Oversee preparation and filing of all federal, state, and international tax filings in coordination with external advisors; ensure compliance with evolving tax regulations across jurisdictions.
  • International Accounting: Collaborate with our Netherlands-based finance team to ensure compliance with local accounting standards and tax laws.
  • Process Improvement: Assist in streamlining and scaling accounting operations, policies, and systems using automation and AI-based technologies to increase accuracy, speed, and operational efficiency.
We are looking for someone with the following skills:
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is strongly preferred..
  • 4 -6 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within SaaS or technology companies.
  • Hands-on experience with NetSuite is a plus.
  • Familiarity with international accounting, especially Dutch/Netherlands GAAP and tax frameworks, is a significant plus.
  • Experience with multi-entity consolidations and intercompany transactions.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP; IFRS knowledge is a plus.
  • Proven ability to manage audits, and work cross-functionally.
  • Analytical mindset, strong attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
Preferred Experience
  • Public accounting background (Big 4 or regional firm).
  • Experience in a SaaS and multi-entity/global organization.
  • Familiarity with technical standards relevant to SAAS companies.
  • Interest in AI-enabled automation tools and their application in finance operations.

If hired, applicants based in the US can expect an annual base salary and target bonus within the following ranges, depending on experience.
