Job summary

Sonic Automotive is hiring an Assistant Controller for Lexus / Honda of Serramonte in the SF Bay Area. You will support the Controller in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring internal controls, and delivering timely financial reporting in a fast-paced dealership setting.

The role requires 3+ years of dealership accounting experience, CDK and Excel proficiency, and local residence in the SF Bay Area. Full-time with comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of accounting experience in an automotive dealership environment.
• Experience with dealership management systems (CDK) and Excel.
• Knowledge of internal controls and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Assist with monthly financial statements, schedules and management reports.
• Support accounts payable/receivable, inventory, cash management and ledgers.
• Ensure compliance with policies, manufacturer requirements and accounting standards.
• Review dealership transactions across sales, service, parts and warranties.
• Support month-end/year-end close and audits, tax filings and regulatory reporting.
• Partner with managers to analyze performance and drive efficiency.
• Lead and develop the Business Office team for accuracy and service.
