Job summary

Kahlig Auto Group in San Antonio, TX is seeking an Assistant Controller to support the Controller in operating the store's accounting office. The role involves hands-on management of daily postings, month-end close, and accurate financial statements, stepping in for the Controller when needed.

The ideal candidate will have dealership accounting experience, strong Excel skills, and familiarity with CDK and GAAP. This is an on-site, full-time role in a fast-paced automotive retail environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of franchised dealership accounting experience.
• Hands-on experience with dealership month-end close, including schedules and account reconciliations.
• Working knowledge of dealership schedules, ledgers, bank, floorplan and manufacturer reconciliations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations in the store accounting office.
• Review and post vehicle deals for proper accounting treatment; ensure paperwork and funding are complete.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly and assist with month-end close.
• Prepare and review manufacturer financial statements and internal reports.
