Job summary

Tiberius Aerospace is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to build and scale the accounting function in a fast-growing aerospace/defense environment. This role reports to the VP of Finance / Controller and offers a clear path to the Controller role, with a focus on close, policy development, and internal controls.

The ideal candidate will bring 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, a strong GAAP background, ERP expertise, and leadership capabilities to drive a high-integrity

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Active CPA license required.
• 8+ years progressive accounting experience including public accounting at a Big Four firm.
• Experience in a high-growth startup or scaling aerospace/defense/manufacturing environment.
• Proven ownership of close, reporting, controls, audit readiness, and process improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes with accuracy and timeliness.
• Maintain general ledger integrity: reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and fixed assets.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports.
• Resolve close discrepancies and close-related risks.
• Establish close calendars and SOPs; drive process improvements.
• Support cash management, banking, and treasury activities.
• Mentor and develop accounting team; partner with cross-functional leaders.
