We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Controller to join our dynamic finance team. This role is crucial in supporting the Controller in overseeing all accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, and contributing to strategic financial planning. Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Oversee and manage the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all accounting entries.
- Lead and execute the month-end closing process, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
- Perform detailed account reconciliation for balance sheet accounts, identifying and resolving discrepancies promptly.
- Support the budgeting and forecasting processes, providing financial analysis and insights.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely processing and accurate record-keeping.
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors, providing necessary documentation and support during audits.
- Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and internal controls.
- Utilize accounting software and Microsoft Excel for financial analysis, reporting, and data management.
- Contribute to financial analysis and reporting, identifying trends and providing actionable recommendations to management.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and practices, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Comprehensive knowledge of account reconciliation and general ledger management.
- Working knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- General knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions.
- Demonstrated ability to perform month-end closing procedures accurately and efficiently.
- Strong understanding of balance sheet and financial statement preparation.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with external auditing procedures and requirements.
- Familiarity with invoicing processes and best practices.
- Experience in operations management within a finance context.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite beyond Excel.
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles.
