Qualifications

About the Role

We are looking for an Assistant Controller to join our team Finance & Accounting team. You will be involved with financial operations, ensuring compliance with GAAP, supporting audits, optimizing business processes, managing overhead, and enhancing finance business operations. You will report to our Finance leadership and be based in the Puget Sound. Ideally, you will spend time in our Puyallup, Washington office to support team connection and your integration.

You will support:

  • Financial Reporting & GAAP Compliance:
    1. Ensure accurate preparation of financial statements observing Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Audit Management:
    1. Support internal and external audit processes, including preparation, coordination, and follow-up actions.
  • Business Process Improvement:
    1. Evaluate and refine finance and accounting processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Overhead & Cost Allocation:
    1. Analyze overhead costs, ensuring understanding of our goals and budget.
  • Finance Business Operations:
    1. Support financial planning and analysis activities, including forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, preferably in the AEC industry.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and audit processes.
  • Proficiency in accounting software systems (experience with BST, PowerBi and Excel preferred).

Compensation Information: Base salary for this position is in the range of $110,000-$150,000 depending on qualifications.

Compensation is determined by factors such as education, experience, location, and role. As employee-owners, we are eligible for performance-based bonuses and our salaries are reviewed annually. We value transparency and look forward to discussing our compensation structure.
