Job summary

Carolina PRG in Fort Mill/Rock Hill, United States, seeks an experienced Assistant Controller to join its finance leadership team. You will manage core accounting functions, monthly closes, financial reporting, internal controls, inventory, treasury, and forecasting, partnering with operations and leadership.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience.
  • Prior experience within a manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, month-end close, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, inventory, and internal controls.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience with ERP and accounting systems, including involvement in systems implementations or improvements, is highly desirable.
  • CPA or CMA preferred but not required.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to understand the financial impact of manufacturing and operational activities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and partner with both finance and non-finance leadership throughout the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and support the company's core accounting activities, including general ledger, financial reporting, account reconciliations, tax, capital expenditures, fixed assets, inventory, and treasury-related functions.
  • Lead the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial results and completion of required management reporting.
  • Prepare and review financial statements and other reporting in accordance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
  • Maintain a strong internal control environment and ensure accounting and financial processes are properly documented and consistently followed.
  • Support forecasting and financial planning activities while providing analysis and insights to business leadership.
  • Oversee inventory accounting and related reconciliations, ensuring accurate reporting and appropriate financial controls.
  • Support treasury activities, including credit and collections, cash-related processes, and other working capital initiatives.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the company's production and commercial operations and serve as a financial partner to divisional and operational leadership.
  • Provide analytical support to departments throughout the organization and help identify opportunities for continuous cost improvement and stronger financial performance.
  • Take a leadership role in implementing and communicating accounting policies, financial procedures, and systems improvements.
  • Coordinate and support internal and external audits, ensuring appropriate documentation, controls, and compliance.
  • Assist with accounting and financial systems initiatives designed to improve reporting, efficiency, and scalability.
  • Provide leadership, training, and development to members of the accounting team and help build a strong, accountable finance organization.

Carolina PRG has partnered with a growing manufacturing organization in Fort Mill/Rock Hill seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to join its finance and accounting leadership team. This is a highly visible role with broad responsibility across accounting, financial reporting, internal controls, inventory, treasury, forecasting, and operational finance.

The Assistant Controller will play an important role in building and maintaining a strong accounting function while partnering closely with business leadership to understand both the commercial and manufacturing sides of the organization.
