Job summary

Stein Collection is seeking an Assistant Controller for its Deer Valley/Park City operations. You will lead accounting activities, ensure accurate monthly closes, and support a fast-paced hotel and resort finance team.

The role emphasizes cross-department collaboration, process improvement, and leadership of the accounting staff. On-site work with comprehensive benefits and ski-resort perks is provided.

Qualifications

• Accounting degree preferred.
• Experience with QuickBooks and Great Plains (GP).
• Strong Excel skills and pivot table experience.
• Good communication skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Close HOA monthly financials in QuickBooks.
• Prepare monthly financials for Rental/F&B/SPA.
• Perform monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations.
• Conduct monthly bank reconciliations.
• Support Accounts Payable, Day Auditor, and Accounts Receivable.
• Handle guest billing inquiries and credit card disputes.
• Assist in year-end audits.

Assistant Controller Job Responsibilities

Establish and maintain accurate financial reporting by collecting, analyzing, verifying, and reporting financial information; supervising accounting staff; and researching and resolving guest billing issues.

Assistant Controller Job Duties

• Close HOA monthly financials in QuickBooks.
• Will be responsible for monthly financial preparation for (Rental/F&B/SPA) Financials
• Monthly Balance Sheet Account Reconciliations
• Monthly Bank Account Reconciliations
• Support/assist Accounts Payable, Day Auditor, and Accounts Receivable functions in the Accounting Department.
• Handle guest calls concerning billing issues and disputes.
• Handle credit card disputes research and prepare responses.
• Assist in year-end audits.
• Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and train accounting staff
• Intercompany Account Reconciliations
• Take on additional tasks when asked.

Assistant Controller Skills and Qualifications

• Accounting Degree preferred.
• Previous accounting experience preferred with QuickBooks and Great Plains (GP).
• Excel/Pivot Tables, Good computer skills, managing processes, attention to detail, multitasking, meet deadlines.
• Good communication skills, ability to work well with others.
