Job summary

Bridgestone HosePower in Florida is seeking a Controller-support professional to document, improve, and lead the month-end close, with emphasis on GAAP and ERP inventory modules. You will assist in reconciliations, audits, and lean process improvements while collaborating closely with the Controller and accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting.

Requirements include a Bachelor's in accounting, CPA desired, and around 5 years of accounting experience with ERP systems and inventory

Description

Job Summary: Supports Controller by documenting, improving, and leading the month-end close process. This role will also develop knowledge of inventory processes and lease accounting and support the Controller on various projects as needed.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Assist the Controller in the direction of accounting functions including journal entries for accruals and allocations, accounts payable invoice review, and expense allocations.


• Prepare and review balance sheet account reconciliations and analysis.


• Assist in monthly, quarterly and yearly closing


• Prepare various support for the annual audit in a timely and accurate manner, while functioning as accounting liaison between the company and auditors.


• Support accounting department improvements by identifying and implementing lean processes, including automation.


• Provide guidance and leadership to accounting team members in collaboration with Controller.


• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent related job experience.


• CPA certification desired.


• 5 years of experience in accounting with specific experience working with ERP systems, particularly inventory modules as it pertains to accounting.


• Experience preparing financial statements in accordance with GAAP.


• Experience leading accounting teams in a professional manner.
