Job summary

MultiTech is seeking an Assistant Controller to lead its accounting organization across the United States and Canada. The role reports to the Vice President, Corporate Controller and drives a transition to a unified, shared-services model with strong controls and scalable capacity.

The position oversees accounting, tax coordination and compliance, leveraging Epicor, automation, and AI to improve accuracy and readiness for growth. A CPA and manufacturing experience are valued.

Qualifications

• The candidate has a bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent and is versed in GAAP.
• Experience with general ledger, month-end close, and financial reporting.
• Knowledge of ERP systems and technical accounting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day accounting across US and Canada, including GL, close, AP/AR, and reporting.
• Ensure timely close and accurate journal entries, reconciliations, and consolidation support.
• Coordinate tax compliance and work with auditors and external advisors.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Assistant Controller is the day-to-day operating leader for MultiTech’s accounting organization across the United States and Canada. Reporting to the Vice President, Corporate Controller, this role will lead the transition from separate country-based accounting teams to one integrated, horizontal shared-services organization with clear process ownership, consistent controls, scalablecapacityand strong entity-level accountability. The Assistant Controlleris responsible foraccounting, tax coordination and compliance execution while using Epicor, connected systems, automation,AIand other tools to improve accuracy, efficiency,visibilityand readiness fororganicand inorganic growth.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead the day-to-day accounting function across the United States and Canada, including general ledger, record-to-report, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cost accounting, inventoryaccountingand financial reporting.
• Ownand support accurateandtimelymonthly,quarterlyand annual close, including journal entries, account reconciliations, consolidation support, and resolution of accounting issues to ensure compliance with US GAAP
• Maintainthe integrity of the general ledger and supporting subledgers, with consistent account ownership, review standards,documentationand aging follow-up across both entities.
• Prepare and review financial statements, balance-sheet reconciliations, cash-flowinformationand operating analyses forthe leadership team .
• Support technical accounting research, position documentation and implementation support under U.S. GAAP and applicable local requirements. Escalate material judgments and unresolved technical matters to the Vice President, Corporate Controller.
• Support project accounting and product-development capitalization, including partnership with Engineering to evaluate qualifying costs,maintainsupport and monitor projects through completion..
• Develop team capability through coaching, cross-training, documentedproceduresand succession planning. Create dependable coverage for critical accounting and compliance activities.
• Establishrepeatable integration practices that allow acquired entities, new businessmodelsand future growth to enter the accounting operating model without recreating local silos.
• Leverage Systems, Automation and AI to increase efficiencies and improve processes
• Coordinate federal, state, provincial and local tax compliance activities with internal stakeholders and external advisers, including information requests, reconciliations, provision supportand filing deliverables.
• Lead coordination with external auditors and tax advisers, including workpaper planning, request management, issue resolution andtimelycompletion of audit and compliance deliverables.

SECONDARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide leadership through training and example of MultiTech rules and policies.
• Adhere to quality system standards, ESD requirements and safety rules pertaining to the job.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent.
• 5-10 years’ experience in Finance/Accounting; previous experience at a manufacturing company preferred.
• CPA preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of GAAP and procedures.
• Experience with preparing financial statements, general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process.
• Experience with Technical Accounting, Global Accounting and ERP systems.
• Strong understanding of inventory systems and reconciliations.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills required.
