Job summary

Cache Valley Electric is seeking an accounting professional in Logan, Utah to support growth by handling corporate finance functions and cross-department collaboration with the Controller and CFO. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• US GAAP, WIP accounting, forecasting and financial controls.
• Project-based accounting experience required.
• Construction industry experience required.
• CPA required.
• Experience with Vista by Viewpoint strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare fixed assets reports including depreciation computations.
• Perform bank reconciliations.
• Prepare and report sales tax returns and reporting.
• Perform monthly reconciliations of general ledger accounts.
• Assist the Corporate Controller with month-end close procedures.
• Manage accounting for a newly acquired growing company (payroll, billings).
• Collaborate with Division Managers on labor rates, lease-vs-buy analysis, bids, and estimates.
• Prepare and maintain a top-down division forecast for resource planning and scheduling.
• Review project schedules with Project Managers to ensure timely billings.
• Prepare and support monthly WIP reporting with Project Managers.
• Resolve AR/AP and vendor issues for the division.

Job description

Due to the explosive growth experienced by our company, we are looking to add an additional accounting role in our Logan, Utah office to support this growth. The candidate will work in a highly collaborative environment and will work closely with the Corporate Controller and CFO. The roles and responsibilities of the candidate are outlined below. Responsibilities

• Prepare fixed assets reports including depreciation computations
• Perform bank reconciliations
• Prepare and have overall responsibility for sales tax returns and reporting
• Perform monthly reconciliations of general ledger accounts to ensure proper accounting
• Assist the Corporate Controller as needed with month-end close procedures
• Perform overall accounting responsibilities for a newly acquired growing company (payroll, billings, etc).
• Work closely with and support certain Division Managers with calculating labor rates, lease-vs-buy analysis, assist with bids as requested, and job estimate reviews
• Prepare and maintain a top-down division forecast to support accurate resource planning, workforce planning, project scheduling, and allocation decisions
• Review job schedules with Project Managers to ensure timely, complete billings that capture all associated costs
• Prepare and support monthly WIP (Work-in-Progress) reporting in partnership with Project Managers for job-level tracking and financial forecasting
• Help resolve AR/AP and vendor-related issues on behalf of the division

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Demonstrated experience with US GAAP, WIP accounting, forecasting, and financial controls
• Project-based accounting experience required
• Construction industry experience required
• CPA required
• Experience with Vista by Viewpoint strongly preferred
