Topo Advisors is seeking an Assistant Controller to deliver high-quality accounting support for venture-backed startups. You’ll be a hands-on partner to CEOs and leadership teams, guiding monthly closes, budgeting, and strategic analysis.

The role emphasizes detail orientation, scalability, and leadership as our client base grows. Remote-friendly in states where we operate; CPA preferred and fluency with QuickBooks and spreadsheets is expected.

Formación

• 4+ years in public accounting, corporate accounting or finance.
• Excellent quantitative skills with strong experience in spreadsheet software and familiarity with QuickBooks.
• CPA strongly preferred.
• Ability to embrace ambiguity, uncertainty, and changing business landscapes.
• Organized with high attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsabilidades

• Manage monthly financial close and general accounting activities for clients.
• Manage relationships with external auditors and tax advisors ensuring timely and accurate completion of deliverables.
• Manage activities of Topo team members to support execution of engagements.
• Provide support for the budgeting and planning process; work with team on monthly forecast against budget including cash flow projections.
• Research and provide leadership both internally and to clients regarding all technical accounting questions and updates.

We are looking for a strong Assistant Controller to provide world-class accounting support to high-growth venture-backed companies. You'll be a hands-on thought partner to CEOs and leadership team members at dynamic software and services companies.

This position can be remote based in the states in which the company operates. For a full list of states, please see below. The company is headquartered and based in Indianapolis, Indiana.

About this role: This role will support Topo's team members in delivering high quality accounting support to Topo's customers. In this role, we're looking for a high agency person with a strong understanding of and an interest in startups. This role will become increasingly strategic as the individual grows within Topo.

What You'll Do:

• Manage monthly financial close and general accounting activities for clients.

• CPA strongly preferred.
