Dexian is seeking an experienced multifamily accounting leader to join as Assistant Controller. You will lead a team of Senior and Staff Accountants, partner with the Controller, and drive month-end close across 40 properties and multiple entities.

The role emphasizes process improvements, intercompany accounting, consolidated reporting, and support for lenders and audits. Located in Dallas, this position offers growth with a respected real estate organization.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of multifamily portfolio accounting experience across multiple properties.
• Experience supervising staff and senior accountants (3–5 years).
• Understanding intercompany accounting and consolidated reporting is essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of Senior and Staff Accountants.
• Own and oversee month-end close across multiple properties/entities.
• Review journal entries, reconciliations and financial statement packages.
• Manage intercompany accounting and support consolidated reporting.
• Identify and implement accounting process improvements and efficiencies.
• Support lender, investor, audit and compliance reporting.
• Partner with Controller on priorities and department development.
• Support acquisitions, financings, refinancing and accounting integration.

Job Duties Include:

• Lead and develop a team of Senior and Staff Accountants
• Own and oversee month-end close across multiple properties and entities
• Review journal entries, reconciliations and financial statement packages
• Manage intercompany accounting and support consolidated financial reporting
• Identify and implement accounting process improvements and efficiencies
• Support lender, investor, audit and compliance reporting
• Partner closely with the Controller on accounting priorities and department development
• Support acquisitions, financings, refinancing and accounting integration efforts

Job Requirements Include:

• 5+ years multifamily portfolio accounting experience and understanding the complexity of accounting across multiple properties
• Multi - Entity / Intercompany accounting knowledge + consolidated reporting
• 3-5 years supervisor experience
• Any experience with Real Page is beneficial
