Job summary

The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's in accounting or finance, with CPA or MBA preferred, and 5+ years of progressive experience, including GAAP knowledge and ERP systems (NetSuite). You will manage cash flow, internal controls, and partner with banks and auditors.

Halo offers a competitive base salary of $100,000–$140,000, plus bonus, with 3 days/week in the office and a full benefits package including 401k, PTO, and on-site gym.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; CPA or MBA strongly preferred.
• At least 5 years progressive accounting/finance experience; FinTech or Broker/Dealer preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial analysis, and reporting.
• Excellent collaboration with internal & external stakeholders.
• Experience with NetSuite ERP and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Passion for partnering internally to improve and streamline processes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting.
• Maintain financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, reviewing and updating as needed.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasts to provide accurate and timely information to senior management and external stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with banks, auditors, and other external stakeholders.
• Manage the company's cash flow and investments to ensure adequate liquidity and profitability.
• Ensure that all financial records are accurate, complete, and up-to-date.
• Help lead and develop others on the Accounting team, providing guidance, coaching, and support.
• Collaborate with other departments to provide financial guidance and support on various projects and initiatives.
• Develop and implement internal controls to mitigate financial risks and ensure the integrity of financial reporting.

Halo is hiring an Assistant Controller for our downtown Chicago office (hybrid). • Must be able prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
