About the role

As an Assistant Control Room Operator for our power plant, you will be responsible for the daily operation of various systems including air pollution control (APC), turbine generator, boiler feed pumps, and more, ensuring the facility meets its operational, environmental, and safety commitments while operating safely and efficiently.

Position Responsibilities

• Assist in daily control room operations, including operating equipment and managing permits.
• Perform inspections, rounds, and maintain APC systems within prescribed limits.
• Report malfunctions and support maintenance through work orders.
• Support safe and efficient operations by guiding crane and plant operators.
• Monitor operations systems, troubleshoot, and respond to alarms.
• Make sound decisions supporting safety and operational goals.

Position Requirements & Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of municipal waste combustion course within one year of hire.
• Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts.
• Ability to pass respiratory fit testing.
• Proficiency in English communication.

Shift Details

Rotating 12-hour shifts: 5 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on, 5 days off, with rotating days and nights monthly.
