Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-orientedAssistant Construction Schedulerto support our project management team in developing, monitoring, and maintaining construction schedules. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget through efficient coordination and scheduling. This position reports to the Construction Scheduler.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the development, maintenance, and updating of construction project schedules using scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
- Work closely with project managers, superintendents, and other stakeholders to gather scheduling data and update project timelines.
- Monitor and report on project progress, highlighting potential risks and recommending solutions as necessary.
- Produce regular scheduling reports and updates for management and clients.
- Help identify schedule impacts due to changes, delays, or other unforeseen circumstances.
- Support the tracking of critical path activities and milestones to ensure timely completion of project deliverables.
- Participate in project meetings and maintain effective communication with the project team.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and scheduling records.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
- 1-2 years of experience in construction, project coordination, or scheduling role (internship experience considered).
- Basic understanding of construction processes, methods, and terminology.
- Proficiency in scheduling software such as Microsoft Project or Primavera P6.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field.
- Experience with construction scheduling for large-scale civil or infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of industry standards such as Critical Path Method (CPM).
- Certification in Project Management or Scheduling (e.g., PMI-SP) is an asset.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaborative team player with a proactive approach to tasks.
- Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and deadlines.
