Position Overview
Avid Trails is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Construction Project Manager to support our growing portfolio of bike park and trail projects nationwide. This role offers the opportunity to work with a talented, experienced team of planners, landscape architects and trail builders in some of the most scenic and inspiring project locations in the U.S.
The Assistant Construction Project Manager will assist with day to day management of project safety, quality, schedule, cost control, contracts, subcontractors, suppliers, procurement, proposals, estimates, documentation, turnover, client interface, field-based activities, and other duties required to build world-class trails, bike parks and pump tracks.
Ideal candidates have 3+ years of experience in construction project management, relevant site development and construction experience, and a passion for riding bikes, building trails and enjoying outdoor recreation. Regular travel for short visits to sites is a requirement of this position.
Key Responsibilities
Project estimating, planning and scheduling.
Identifying key subcontractors or suppliers and soliciting cost estimates.
Contract administration and management of subcontractors.
Read, interpret and markup construction plans, layouts, and trail alignments in the field
Managing daily activities and issues related to the completion of each project.
Cost tracking throughout the duration of the project.
Labor, materials and equipment sourcing and procurement.
Crew travel arrangements, scheduling and logistics.
Ongoing coordination with Avid Trails design team and third party landscape architects, engineers and designers.
Reporting progress to Avid team and preparing progress bills as needed.
Preparing and tracking change order requests.
Assisting with permitting when required.
Daily coordination with site superintendent or crew foreman to assist with their needs in the field, optimize workflow and stay on budget.
Uphold safety and environmental standards on all job sites.
Communicate clearly with clients, team members, and project partners.
Qualifications
3+ years of experience in construction project management
Familiarity with site work, general construction and ideally bike park design principles and mountain bike trail features
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to work outdoors in varied weather and terrain conditions
Comfortable with regular travel to construction project locations
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
Experience working with modern project management software
Bonus: OSHA certification, First Aid/CPR, survey/GPS skills, or leadership experience
