Assistant Construction Project Manager - Anticipated Openings

Turner & Townsend Heery is looking for an Assistant Project Manager to support various construction projects. The Assistant Project Manager will lead individual, multi-disciplined construction project solutions for clients, with direct accountability for project delivery.

Responsibilities:
- Manage projects involving construction, cost allocations, time schedules, right of way acquisitions, permitting, bidding, contract requirements, inspections, and change orders for building public infrastructures.
- Monitor the work performance of consultant engineers and contractors to ensure compliance with contract requirements.
- Make presentations and meet with stakeholders, contractors, community groups, and Federal, state, and local officials on a variety of issues concerning construction projects.
- Maintain accurate records on project costs, time schedules, contractor performance, contract changes, and related capital project requirements.
- Provide technical engineering assistance to professional, technical, and office support staff.
- Oversee the work performed by design engineers, construction inspection personnel, and contractual personnel.
- Ensure a quality constructed project is completed within the prescribed time frame and operating budget.
- Manage approved budget for the construction project to ensure work is performed within the authorized amount of money budgeted for the project.
- Document changes in project cost, schedule, change orders and prepare written reports to managers on project status and problems needing resolution by management.
- Conduct periodic site visits to monitor the progress of construction and review that work is generally proceeding in accordance with the approved drawings and specifications.
- Review contractors' direct cost payment requisitions and budget status, review of subcontracts, bonds/subcontractor default insurance, review of change orders, and review of Developer's monthly Job Cost Reports.
- Review contract drawings and specifications for completeness and compliance with commonly accepted architectural/engineering best practices.
- Review and comment on construction and disbursement schedules as well as other submitted documents including zoning approvals, certified surveys, building permits, and utility company approval letters.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
- No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position.
- Manages 3rd party project delivery resources/team (typically smaller team).
