Job Description:
Our global EPC firm client is hiring an Assistant Construction Manager for a long-term contract in Wallingford, CT. The role involves assisting the Construction Project Manager, Site Manager, and EPC Project Manager with the daily management of projects.
Responsibilities include:
- Adhering to safety programs, policies, and managing safety & health performance.
- Building client relationships and interfacing on proposal and project-related items.
- Assisting in risk reviews and consulting with the Legal Department.
- Developing and implementing project plans, QA, safety, subcontracting, staffing, and procurement plans.
- Negotiating and executing contracts, subcontracts, and change orders.
- Supporting site mobilization/demobilization, permitting, and bidder pre-qualification.
- Preparing RFPs, scope of work, bid processes, and contract documents.
- Implementing project specifications, design changes, and contract administration.
- Supporting project cost, schedule, and progress tracking.
- Reporting project status, risks, and financials to stakeholders, and managing documentation.
- Verifying insurance, licenses, taxes, and securities compliance.
- Supporting safety, quality, progress, and financial audits.
- Managing materials, inventory, and project turnover documentation.
- Assisting with labor agreements, onboarding, and labor cost analysis.
- Monitoring craft classifications, training, and ensuring standards.
- Estimating labor and equipment costs, managing construction equipment.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Management, Engineering, or related field, with 3 years relevant experience, or applicable experience in lieu of degree.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with project management software.
- Excellent communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in industries such as aviation, commercial, energy, government, manufacturing, oil & gas, etc.
- Basic understanding of GAAP.
