Job description

Insight Global is looking for an Assistant Construction Manager to help support a large engineering consulting company in Southern California. This individual will be responsible for supporting new developments through organizing, planning, and scheduling the construction "start-up through completion" to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and agency regulations.

Responsibilities:

1. Coordinates construction and site maintenance activities between the client, field engineers, field observation staff, utility companies, other governing agencies, and contractors involved in the construction process.
2. Solicits, reviews, analyzes, and approves proposals from consultants and contractors for design and construction services. Assists in the preparation and review of contract agreements with selected consultants and contractors.
3. Administers contract agreements throughout the project duration, ensuring all obligations are fully executed.
4. Monitors project schedules and maintains progress to ensure milestones are achieved, balancing contract, budget, time, and cost limitations. Tracks project budget status to ensure expenditures fall within estimates.
5. Certifies payments to contractors and consultants and processes invoices.
6. Supports the Project Manager and Project Engineer in resolving design and field coordination issues, contract change orders, and claims.
7. Monitors quality and compliance inspections.
8. Conducts site meetings with contractors.
9. Demonstrates full knowledge of the project's status.
10. Performs project management tasks such as monitoring schedules and budgets, preparing client invoices, and managing accounts receivables.
11. Engages in marketing and business development activities, including writing proposals and SOQs.

Minimum Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience as a Construction/Project Manager
• Ability to confidently lead and address schedule, budget, or quality issues
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills

Nice to Have Skills & Experience:

• PMP or CM Certification
