Assistant Estimator Position

Responsibilities include reviewing project invitations, creating a Bill of Materials (BOM) for quoting (steel, hardware, decking, joists, finish, etc.), entering the BOM into an Excel spreadsheet per floor, and writing a summary for the final quote package.

Required Skills
  • Working knowledge of structural steel
  • Proficiency in reading engineering prints
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Word
  • Experience with takeoff programs such as Blue Beam or Adobe Pro PDF software
Additional Requirements

This is a part-time construction role requiring physical labor and construction knowledge. Candidates should be able to use tape measures, squares, levels, etc. Knowledge of carpentry, welding, fabrication, or ironwork is a plus. Must be hands-on and willing to work in the field and office as needed to assist senior officers in bidding projects.

Basic tools will be provided. Hours may vary; candidates should be able to commit to 12-hour days, 5 days a week. Responsibilities are flexible. Training will be provided for PDFs and drawings. Strong computer skills are essential.
