Job Title: Assistant Community Manager

Supervisor: Community Manager
FLSA Status: Non-exempt

Job Summary

Responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of the community under the supervision of the Community Manager and able to assume responsibilities in their absence.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Report, maintain, and submit administrative forms, files, and reports; post rent to MRI; perform bookkeeping as needed.
  • Assist in orientation, training, and scheduling of leasing and office staff.
  • Inspect model, office, and vacant units; ensure organized files and inspect make-readies.
  • Maintain community curb appeal awareness.
  • Regularly review competitors' pricing, policies, and lease terms.
  • Lease to qualified prospects, show apartments, and assist with lease renewals.
  • Maintain professional appearance and behavior for self and staff.
  • Know leasing techniques, current rental rates, amenities, and Fair Housing Standards.
  • Follow company policies and respond courteously to resident requests.
  • Assist in resident retention programs and report unusual circumstances.
  • Operate safely adhering to OSHA standards and seek self-improvement opportunities.
Supervisory Responsibilities

No supervisory duties unless the Community Manager is unavailable.

Qualifications

Tax Credit experience preferred. Must perform duties satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations can be provided.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED; or 1-year related experience; or equivalent. Yardi experience preferred.

Skills

Ability to read, write, and present information effectively. Basic math skills. Must complete Fair Housing training within 1 day of hire and other courses within 7 days. Valid driver’s license required. Fair Housing Certification within 60 days.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Regular use of hands, standing, walking, and other physical activities. Exposure to outdoor weather conditions. Moderate noise level.
