Job summary

Conifer Realty is seeking an Assistant Community Manager for affordable housing in Camden, NJ. You’ll work with the Community Manager to oversee daily operations—leasing, compliance, and resident satisfaction—so our communities thrive.

We value detail-oriented, organized people with 1–3+ years in property management, knowledge of LIHTC/HUD, strong computer skills (Microsoft Office; Yardi), and a service mindset. High school diploma required; COS/LIHTC preferred.

Qualifications

• 1–3+ years in apartment or affordable housing management (LIHTC, HUD, RD preferred).
• Knowledge of leasing, compliance, marketing, or office administration.
• Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office; Yardi or similar software).
• Basic accounting or bookkeeping skills to assist with rent collection and reporting.
• Excellent customer service, communication, and organizational skills.
• AAS degree or some college preferred; high school diploma or GED required.
• Certifications such as COS or LIHTC are preferred (or willingness to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Greet residents and prospects, respond to inquiries, and foster a welcoming environment.
• Market apartments, conduct tours, and process applications, leases, and renewals.
• Manage LIHTC, HUD, and affordable housing documentation accurately.
• Coordinate with maintenance on work orders, turnovers, and inspections.
• Plan resident events, assist with outreach, and manage social media activity.
• Process invoices, prepare reports, collect rent, and back up the Community Manager.
• Uphold policies, professionalism, and commitment to resident care.
