Assistant Colorist, Licensed Cosmetologist

Join Madison Reed as an Assistant Colorist, Licensed Cosmetologist and support our team at the Hair Color Bar. This role involves assisting Licensed Colorists and Shift Leads to deliver a seamless guest experience, learning about our services, and preparing for your next career step. If you love beauty and hair color, and enjoy helping guests find their perfect shade, this is the role for you.

The Assistant Colorist is responsible for consultations, hair care, shampooing, blowouts, and supporting color services while developing skills for promotion to Licensed Colorist within 3-9 months. This position reports to the Manager and can be full or part-time, with availability during peak hours to best serve guests.

Responsibilities include:

• Providing excellent guest service aligned with our core values of Love, Joy, Trust, Courage, and Responsibility.
• Assisting in hair services such as shampooing, blowouts, styling, treatments, and add-on products.
• Contributing to sales goals through retail, memberships, and service upselling.
• Maintaining cleanliness, merchandising, and inventory standards at the Hair Color Bar.
• Adhering to company policies and procedures.
• Driving revenue by increasing service tickets and promoting memberships and products.
• Learning color theory and behind-the-chair application to advance your career.

Physical Demands:

Regular standing, walking, bending, twisting, and handling products, with occasional sitting, kneeling, or lifting up to ten pounds. Strong communication skills are essential for guest interactions.

Qualifications:

• Active cosmetology license in your state.
• Entry-level experience in customer service or retail, with preferred salon or beauty industry background.
• Effective communication, problem-solving, and people skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfort with point-of-sale systems and fluency in English.
