Job summary

FP Movement is seeking an Assistant Colorist to support the color team from concept to production. Reporting to the Color Designer, you will manage lab dips, organize seasonal color submits, and ensure clear communication across design, production, and vendors.

This role requires 1–2 years in color or textile development, strong color perception, and proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and PLM-like systems.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in color or textile product development.
• Excellent color perception and a strong eye for detail; Farnsworth-Munsell 100 Hue test is preferred.
• Highly system-driven with the ability to manage hundreds of submits simultaneously.
• Experience evaluating lab dips and providing color comments to vendors.
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and PLM or similar product tracking software.

Responsibilities

• Log, date, and organize all incoming seasonal lab dips, knit-downs, strike-offs, and submits.
• Maintain and organize the physical FP Movement color library and seasonal archives.
• Prepare and distribute color rings and swatches to internal teams.
• Keep PLM systems updated daily with color codes, names, and statuses.
• Draft actionable color comments for vendor communication and monitor submission progress.
• Act as a point of contact for Production and Design regarding color approvals.
