Job Description

General Scope of Duties

The person in this position is an Assistant Coach, reporting to the Head Coach and the Director of Athletics & Chair of Physical Education. Responsible for sport duties and administrative duties, with a 44-week appointment ending May 2025, with renewal possibility.

General Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in conducting a program aligned with the values and philosophies of the College, department, NESCAC, and NCAA Division III.
  • Prepare student-athletes for competition through training, practice, scouting, and competitions within regulations.
  • Maintain high ethical standards and foster positive relationships on campus.
  • Uphold and promote the values of the college, department, NESCAC, and NCAA.
  • Ensure a safe environment during practice, competition, and travel.
  • Abide by all relevant rules, policies, and procedures, understanding violations could lead to discipline or termination.
  • Perform administrative duties assigned by the Athletic Director.
  • Engage with alumni and parents to support fundraising.
  • Manage team social media and marketing.
  • Monitor academic progress and well-being of student-athletes.
  • Assist with individual meetings and recruitment efforts following NCAA and NESCAC rules.
  • Coordinate with Sports Medicine and Strength & Conditioning staff regarding injured athletes.
  • Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion, creating a safe, supportive environment for all.

Education and Skills

Bachelor's Degree required; 1-3 years of collegiate playing and/or coaching experience preferred. Ability to demonstrate sport skills, work independently, and work evenings/weekends. Experience in recruiting at the college level is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree and 1-3 years of collegiate coaching experience.

Physical Demands: Driving required.

Salary Range: $43,888. Final offer will consider experience, education, and pay structure to ensure fairness.

Applicant Credentialing includes background checks, DMV, psychological, and physical exams as needed.
