Job description

Assistant Coach (Women’s Varsity Reserve Softball)

Principle duties include serving as the varsity reserve coach, including practice and skill development sessions, with some responsibilities for the varsity program. The assistant coach will assist the head coach in scouting, talent assessment, and recruiting to reach optimal roster numbers. Responsibilities also include helping with field work and maintenance, monitoring and supporting student-athletes' academic success and retention, and providing training, direction, and encouragement in team building, strategy, and sportsmanship.

The assistant coach will analyze player performance and instruct student-athletes in game strategies and techniques to prepare them for competition. The individual should serve as a positive role model and demonstrate a commitment to the college’s mission and values. Additional duties may include assisting with fundraising, planning camps/clinics, participating in Champions of Character initiatives, managing social media, sports marketing, and statistical analysis. This position is exempt under FLSA overtime rules and covered by the NSCPA negotiated agreement.
