Job summary

Barstow Community College is seeking an Assistant Coach for Women’s Softball to support the planning and execution of the softball program. You will recruit competitive players and direct conditioning, training, practice and athletic performance for student-athletes.

The role involves maintaining team statistics, developing relationships with local high school coaches, and ensuring compliance with college rules, the Commission on Athletics, and other regulatory bodies.

Qualifications

• Must have either an Associate’s Degree and six years coaching experience; OR Bachelor’s degree and two years experience.
• Must demonstrate a sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

ASSIGNMENT

Under the direction of the Associate Dean/Athletic Director - Kinesiology, the Assistant Coach for Women’s Softball will perform the following:

• Assist in the planning and execution of the Softball program at Barstow College.
• Recruit competitive players.
• Plan and direct conditioning, training, practice and athletic performance of student/athlete team members.
• Maintain team statistics and records.
• Develop and maintain a close relationship with local high school softball coaches.
• Provide compliance with college rules and policies, the Commission on Athletics as well as other applicable regulatory agencies.
• Perform other work related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

• Must have either an Associate’s Degree and six years coaching experience; OR Bachelor’s degree and two years experience

All course work and degrees must be from a regionally accredited college or university.
