All coaching positions are posted as open until filled. Applicants applying within 5 days of initial posting are guaranteed consideration per the Coaches collective bargaining agreement.
Persons applying for paid coaching positions must meet district and WIAA requirements, including a valid background check. Head coaching applicants must be at least 21 years old; assistant coaching applicants must be at least 19 years old. A valid first aid and CPR card is also required. The application process includes:
- Completing the KSD online application, including professional reference forms.
- Annually completing the WIAA general rules clinic, sport-specific rule clinic, and KSD Vector Training before the sports season.
- Completing Concussion recognition and management training with Return to Play Protocols, renewed every three years.
- Completing Sudden Cardiac Arrest Awareness training, also renewed every three years.
- Before the third year of coaching, completing a district-approved Coaching Principles training, NFHS Coaches Fundamentals Course, WIAA Coaches School, or other approved Coaches School, with renewal every three years.
- Building athletic directors will monitor and contact applicants as needed.
- If hired, coaches must read and sign the KSD Coaches Manual.
