Job description

All coaching positions are posted as open until filled. Applicants applying within 5 days of initial posting are guaranteed consideration per the Coaches collective bargaining agreement.

Persons applying for paid coaching positions must meet district and WIAA requirements, including a valid background check. Head coaching applicants must be at least 21 years old; assistant coaching applicants must be at least 19 years old. A valid first aid and CPR card is also required. The application process includes:

1. Completing the KSD online application, including professional reference forms.
2. Annually completing the WIAA general rules clinic, sport-specific rule clinic, and KSD Vector Training before the sports season.
3. Completing Concussion recognition and management training with Return to Play Protocols, renewed every three years.
4. Completing Sudden Cardiac Arrest Awareness training, also renewed every three years.
5. Before the third year of coaching, completing a district-approved Coaching Principles training, NFHS Coaches Fundamentals Course, WIAA Coaches School, or other approved Coaches School, with renewal every three years.
6. Building athletic directors will monitor and contact applicants as needed.
7. If hired, coaches must read and sign the KSD Coaches Manual.
