Position Overview

All Assistant coaches must complete the following training before working with athletes:

• Background check
• Safety Course (every other year)
• First Aid/CPR/AED Training

Job Goal

Assist the head coach in achieving a successful program.

Performance Responsibilities

Year-round

• Understand and follow rules and regulations from KHSAA.
• Stay updated on rule changes.
• Assist the head coach with responsibilities.

Seasonal

• Help with athlete registration and equipment issuance.
• Meet with the team to discuss rules and regulations, focusing on Athletic Guidelines.
• Maintain equipment and facilities.
• Supervise athletes and team activities.
• Attend practices regularly.
• Apply discipline positively and consistently.
• Prioritize safety and injury prevention.
• Conduct yourself ethically during contests and practices.

End of Season

• Assist with equipment return, storage, and inventory.
• Additional duties such as scouting may be assigned.
• Other duties as assigned by the Head Coach, Athletic Director, or Principal.
