Job Description

This posting is for an open pool position. There may or may not be available openings at this time. Please contact the head coach to inquire about current openings. When an opening occurs, the hiring manager will select from the pool of applicants on file.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the head coach in providing leadership, organization, and supervision of the men's basketball team.
• Support program organization aligned with the mission of Fitchburg State University and the Athletics Department's philosophy.
• Develop knowledge of NCAA, MASCAC, or other conference rules regarding recruiting, eligibility, and sport-specific regulations.
• Maintain current knowledge of sport rules and updates.
• Assist with practice planning, contest management, recruiting, fundraising, and other duties as assigned.
• Keep records of hours worked to comply with FLSA regulations.
• Conduct oneself ethically during practices and games, promoting appropriate behavior among team members.
• Represent the program at department meetings and events in the absence of the head coach.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

• College playing and coaching experience in men's basketball.
