ASSISTANT MEN’S BASKETBALL COACH

Part-Time

Bridgewater College, a member of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference and NCAA Division III, is seeking applications for the position of Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach, to begin immediately. This is a part-time position, reporting to the Head Men’s Basketball Coach.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Assisting the head coach in all facets of a Division III men’s basketball program
• Recruiting prospective student-athletes who fit the mission and culture of the program and the College
• Conducting on-court coaching during practices and games
• Developing detailed scouting reports for game opponents
• Providing mentoring and support for the student-athletes, particularly in regard to academics and player development
• Complying with all NCAA, conference and college policies and regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• Prior collegiate coaching experience and/or competitive collegiate playing experience required.
• Basic competency in Microsoft Office applications is required.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and be insurable by the college’s auto insurance carrier

GENERAL INFORMATION: Bridgewater College was founded in 1880 as the first coeducational college in Virginia. Bridgewater offers bachelor’s degrees in approximately 60 majors and minors, along with four graduate programs, pre-professional programs such as medicine and law, and teacher licensure.
