POSITION SPECIFICS

Penn State Intercollegiate Athletics, an NCAA Division 1A and Big Ten Conference Institution is seeking a Men's Hockey Assistant Coach for Men’s Hockey responsible to the Head Coach for performing or assisting with a wide variety of coaching duties in order to accomplish the goals and objectives of the team. Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Identify, recruit, coach and develop high level athletes for the program.

  • Provide high-level coaching and instruction, including individualized skill training, video sessions, and individual goal setting.

  • Assist with practice and game preparations.

  • Organize official and unofficial visits.

One year of related experience. Coaching and/or playing experience preferred.

Extensive travel, including internationally is an expectation for the position.The successful candidate should have a positive and can-do attitude and be fully committed to the desired culture of Penn State Hockey as determined by the head coach and support Penn State Intercollegiate Athletics Mission to Prepare Student-Athletes for a Lifetime of Impact.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree Differs per sport Required Certifications: None

BACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES

This position requires the following clearances in addition to applicable background checks: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check. Due to the financial and fiduciary responsibilities of this position, successful completion of a credit history check will be required in addition to standard background checks. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
