Job summary

Michigan State University in East Lansing seeks an Assistant Coach to support a competitive athletic program. You will assist in organizing team training, practice sessions, and competition scheduling.

You will aid in recruiting prospective student-athletes, planning team travel, NCAA paperwork, and ensuring compliance with MSU, Big Ten, and NCAA rules. You will also support fundraising and alumni relations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Three years coaching experience at a highly competitive level.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with prospective student-athletes, staff and university personnel.
  • Commitment to adhering to MSU, Big Ten and NCAA policies and regulations.

Position Summary

  • Demonstrate a sincere interest in the social, emotional, and academic development, as well as athletic welfare of the student-athletes
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Three years coaching experience at a highly competitive professional, collegiate or private club level or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills in dealing with prospective student-athletes, student-athletes, staff and University personnel.
  • Candidate must display a commitment to responsibility for adhering to all of the policies, rules and regulations of MSU, the B1G Ten Conference and the NCAA.
  • Computer skills necessary
