Job summary

Silver City Consolidated School District 1 is seeking an Assistant Coach/Extracurricular/Cocurricular Increment to lead and elevate the district’s athletic program.

Under the supervision of the Athletic Director, you will coach athletes, coordinate scheduling, and collaborate with boosters to foster discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship across grades 8–12. A strong teaching background and coaching endorsement are required.

Qualifications

• New Mexico Teaching License with Coaching Endorsement.
• Five years of teaching experience.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain an athletic program of high caliber in assigned sport(s).
• Coach athletes to develop skills, discipline, teamwork and sportsmanship.
• Screen and supervise assistant coaches for the major sport.
• Coordinate scouting, scheduling, and communications with media and boosters.
• Ensure safety and compliance with district policies and athletic regulations.
• Plan practices and coordinate interscholastic contests with the Athletic Director.
• Maintain records, equipment inventories, and eligibility documentation.
• Oversee program in grades 8–12 in cooperation with staff and principal.

Education

New Mexico Teaching License with Coaching Endorsement

Five years of teaching experience

Valid driver’s license
