Job summary

Lake Local Schools District in Uniontown, Ohio seeks an Assistant Coach for 8th Grade Cheerleading for the Winter season. The role reports to the Athletic Director and Head Coach and supports all aspects of the athletic program, booster activities, and compliance with board policies.

Starting date is immediate. The incumbent will work through proper channels, attend meetings, supervise practices as needed, and help foster sportsmanship and professional conduct across the program.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Pupil Activity Permit (and all necessary certificates).

• Demonstrate loyalty to the head coach and to the program.
• Maintain good public relations with those groups and individuals involved with the program.

Job Description

Reports to: Athletic Director and Head Coach

General Description:

The position of assistant coach will be filled based upon input from the head coach, Athletic Director, and Building Principal and recommendation of the Superintendent to the Board of Education. The assistant coach must meet all provisions of the Lake Board of Education and the OHSAA.

• Responsible to Athletic Director and head coach.
• Attend all meetings scheduled by the head coach.
• Assist in the administration of the athletic program.
• Demonstrate loyalty to the head coach and to the program.
• Maintain good public relations with those groups and individuals involved with the program.
• Support the Lake Athletic Booster Club.
• Conduct oneself in a professional manner at all times.

Pre-Season responsibilities:

• be in attendance from the first day of practice.
• assist with the supervision of practices and games.
• assist with the issuance of equipment.
• assist in pre-season conditioning as assigned by the head coach.

In-Season responsibilities:

• carry out the duties assigned by the head coach.
• assist the trainer with his/her duties.
• scout other schools’ teams as necessary.
• observe and communicate with feeder coaches in the program.

Off-season responsibilities:

• assist in the collection, storage, and inventory of equipment.
• assist with banquet activities.
• attend clinics when possible.
• assist with the off-season conditioning program.

Qualifications:

• Must possess a valid Pupil Activity Permit (and all necessary certificates).

Acts that are deemed as lude, sexual, or inappropriate will be viewed as unacceptable and may be considered as grounds for administrative action, dismissal, or termination of contract.
