Job summary

Del Amo Behavioral Health System, a subsidiary of UHS, is seeking an Assistant Chief Nursing Officer to lead nursing departments, set standards, and ensure high quality patient care across inpatient and outpatient services. The ACNO will partner with administration to implement policies and oversee regulatory compliance in a large behavioral health network.

The role emphasizes clinical leadership, strategic planning, and staff development within an expanding regional system.

Qualifications

  • Current Registered Nurse license in CA.
  • BSN from an accredited program.
  • Three or more years of progressive nursing management experience.
  • Experience in a psychiatric setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of behavioral health nursing practices and patient care management.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop department goals, objectives, standards of performance, policies and procedures.
  • Organize the department per administrative guidelines.
  • Advise administration on proposed procedural changes related to patient care.

The Assistant Chief Nursing Officer develops department goals, objectives, standards of performance, policies and procedures, and organizes the department in accordance with administrative guidelines. The ACNO functions in an advisory capacity to administration in evaluating proposed procedural changes as they relate to patient care. This position directs the implementation and ensures compliance with the Standard of Nursing Practice and regulatory compliance that promotes optimum health care delivery.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • Licensure: Current Registered Nurse license in the state of CA.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited nursing program required
  • Three or more years of progressive nursing management experience required
  • Experience as a Registered Nurse in a psychiatric setting preferred
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of behavioral health nursing clinical practices and management.
  • Extensive knowledge of principles and practices relevant to nursing and patient care activities.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of effective management and supervisory practices.
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
