Characteristics that will make you the perfect fit for our Assistant Club Manager:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  1. Assist in recruiting, hiring, training, and developing a high performing staff consisting of Member Service Representatives, Overnight Member Services Representatives, and Fitness Instructors.
  2. Lead by example and maintain a welcoming atmosphere for all members, prospective members, and guests and ensure staff follow superior customer service guidelines.
  3. Resolve member concerns in a fair and equitable manner.
  4. Assist with staff management and provide support to Club Manager with reporting, inventory, and other assigned duties as needed.
  5. Assist in administering and enforcing company policies and procedures with staff and members.
  6. Involved in all front desk related activities including answering phones in a friendly manner, assisting members with a variety of tasks, checking in members, new member sign-up, and touring prospective members. Facilitate all member requests, issues, and questions.
  7. Ensure prompt opening/closing of gym following proper protocols.
  8. Oversee cleanliness and maintenance of facility including taking responsibility for the largest section of cleaning daily.
  9. Ensure safety of employees, members, and club property.
  10. Determine and communicate equipment repair in a timely manner.
Minimum Skills:
  1. Superior customer service skills, preferably in the fitness industry.
  2. Previous work experience at Planet Fitness is a plus.
  3. Exceptional leadership, diplomacy, and listening skills.
  4. Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office).
  5. Strong problem resolution skills, hardworking, enthusiastic, and energetic!
Minimum Qualifications:
  1. Must be 18 years of age or older.
  2. High school diploma/GED equivalent preferred.
  3. Ability to pass a background check.
  4. Willing to become CPR/AED Certified prior to gaining employment and maintain your certification while employed.
Physical Demands of the Club Manager:
  1. Continual standing and walking throughout the club to accomplish tasks during shift.
  2. Ability to work 3rd shift (overnight) alone, in the event overnight staff is unavailable.
  3. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  4. Will encounter toxic chemicals during shift.
  5. Frequent cleaning and sanitizing of equipment and facilities.
  6. Some bending, twisting, and reaching are required to accomplish tasks.
