Role Overview
The manager oversees specific areas of the club such as Operations, Merchandising, Member Services, or Perishables. They serve as a leader by providing direction, oversight, and ensuring company expectations are met. Responsibilities include establishing efficiencies, maintaining policies and procedures, delivering positive service experiences, and ensuring a safe environment. The manager may also serve as the Manager on Duty (MOD), managing the entire club and addressing member and team concerns, often for 50% or more of scheduled shifts.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities
- Ensure understanding and enforcement of club policies across all areas, providing leadership to all departments.
- Assess team member performance, provide feedback, assist in hiring and training, and administer corrective actions.
- Use company reporting to evaluate departmental performance and make decisions to maximize sales and profits.
- Communicate departmental activities effectively to team members and management.
- Perform self-audits and control procedures to ensure compliance with policies.
- Maintain operational processes in receiving, asset control, HR, and cash handling.
- Monitor customer service levels to ensure positive member experiences.
- Establish operational efficiencies and review budgets and P&L for profit opportunities.
- Maintain the physical condition of the club including building, equipment, and fixtures.
- Focus on specific areas such as Club Operations, Merchandising, Perishables, or Membership Services, with additional responsibilities assigned as needed.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of store operations, including receiving, asset control, maintenance, HR, and cash procedures.
- Basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Email).
- High school diploma or higher; experience in retail, wholesale, grocery, or management preferred.
- Leadership skills including supervising teams, training, and results-driven communication.
- Open shift availability.
- Minimum age of 18 years.
Job Conditions
- Frequent movement on hard surfaces; may involve bending, handling, reaching, and stooping.
- Occasional lifting of objects up to 30 pounds; may require assistance for heavier objects.
- Work environment includes indoor areas with temperature extremes, loud noises, and occasional exposure to cleaning agents.
The estimated starting pay range for this position is from $69,500.00, subject to location, education, experience, and qualifications.
