Assistant Professor of Medicine

Job Description

Emory Division of Hospital Medicine, Assistant Professor of Medicine, Department of Medicine. This position is for an inpatient Hospital Medicine faculty physician at one of our Hospital Medicine sites: (Emory University Hospital, Emory Johns Creek Hospital, Emory University Hospital Midtown, Emory Saint Joseph's Hospital, Emory Decatur Hospital, Emory Long Term Acute Care Hospital, or Emory Hilldale Hospital).

Scholarship
  • You will be expected to devote between 1% and 25% of your total professional effort to scholarly activities.
  • In keeping with the School of Medicine Guidelines for Appointment, Promotion and Tenure, participation in scholarship is expected, which may include authorship of manuscripts, research studies, abstract presentations, professional blogs, and other scholarly activities.
Teaching
  • You will be expected to devote between 1% and 25% of your total professional effort to teaching.
  • Participation in teaching, including lectures, small group and bedside teaching, preceptorship, and mentorship, is expected in accordance with the School of Medicine Guidelines for Appointment, Promotion and Tenure.
Professional Service
  • You will be expected to devote more than 75% of your total professional effort to professional service.
  • Responsibilities include history and physical exams, assessing patient acuity, bedside procedures, consultation services, initiating contact with outpatient teams for continuity of care, and working with trainees and allied health professionals as needed. Your clinical schedule will follow division policies and your actual effort.

Dr. Daniel Hunt, MD, FACP, will be your direct supervisor, reporting to the Chair of the Department of Medicine.
