Job summary

Youth Opportunity Investments, LLC in Kissimmee, Florida, is hiring an Assistant Clinical Director to join Kissimmee Youth Academy. This role leads clinical services, supervises staff, and supports youth through stabilization and treatment in a residential setting.

The ideal candidate is a licensed mental health professional with an active LCSW/LMHC/LMFT or psychologist license, a master’s degree in a related field, and at least two years of direct clinical experience including supervisory

Qualifications

  • Active licensure as a licensed professional (LCSW/LMHC/LMFT or psychologist).
  • Master’s degree in counseling, social work, psychology, rehabilitation or related field.
  • Minimum two years of direct-care clinical experience; one year supervisory preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate individualized mental health and substance abuse treatment plans.
  • Provide assessments, evaluations, and counseling under supervision of the Clinical Director.
  • Oversee delivery and documentation of mental health services; biopsychosocial assessments included.
  • Supervise, direct, and evaluate clinical and case management staff.
  • Provide or coordinate training for clinical staff and direct-care teams.
  • Supervise specialized treatment programs as required by contract or regulations.
  • Provide diagnostic evaluations, individual therapy, and crisis interventions.
  • Participate in on-call duties as needed.
  • Serve as backup to the Designated Mental Health Authority when required.

Assistant Clinical Director – Youth Behavioral Health

Location: Kissimmee, FL
Job Type: Full-Time
Pay: $70,000 - $80,000 per year

Youth Opportunity is a nationally recognized leader in residential and behavioral health treatment for at-risk youth. Kissimmee Youth Academy in Kissimmee, Florida, is a secure Youth Academy providing trauma-informed residential care for males ages 14 to 18. The program focuses on mental health and substance abuse treatment, offering a structured environment that combines clinical therapy, education, and enrichment activities. Youth receive individualized treatment based on their needs, participating in individual, group, and family therapy, as well as life skills training, restorative justice practices, victim impact awareness, and pre-vocational preparation. Licensed professionals provide 24/7 care in small group living units, and a licensed dietitian oversees nutritional support to promote stabilization and successful reintegration into the community.

Position Summary – Assistant Clinical Director Job in Kissimmee, Florida

We are hiring an Assistant Clinical Director to join our leadership team at Kissimmee Youth Academy. This role is ideal for a licensed mental health professional seeking to work in youth behavioral health, juvenile care, or residential treatment. You’ll provide direct clinical services, supervise clinical staff, and support youth through the stabilization and treatment process.

Assistant Clinical Director Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the implementation of individualized mental health and substance abuse treatment plans
  • Provide ongoing assessment, evaluation, and counseling to youth and their families under supervision of the licensed Clinical Director
  • Oversee the delivery and documentation of all mental health and substance abuse services, including biopsychosocial assessments
  • Supervise, direct, and evaluate clinical and case management staff
  • Provide or coordinate training for clinical staff and direct-care teams
  • Supervise specialized treatment programs such as Sexual Offender Treatment or Seven Challenges
  • Provide diagnostic evaluations, individual therapy, and crisis interventions
  • Participate in on-call clinical duties as needed
  • Serve as backup to the Designated Mental Health Authority when required by contract or regulations
Required Qualifications
  • Active licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Clinical Psychologist
  • Master’s degree in counseling, social work, psychology, rehabilitation, or related human services field
  • Minimum two years of direct-care clinical experience, with at least one year of supervisory experience preferred
  • Ability to pass background check and drug screen
  • Strong clinical judgment and organizational skills
  • Willingness to work with youth in challenging situations
Preferred Experience
  • Experience with trauma-informed care, group modalities, and residential settings
  • Familiarity with child welfare, juvenile justice systems, and substance abuse treatment
  • Experience with EMR systems and clinical documentation standards
Other Requirements
  • Physical Demands: Must be in good physical health and emotionally stable. Must be able to actively engage with youth, transport clients, and participate in physical interventions if needed. Free of communicable diseases as defined by the state. Must pass evaluation of physical techniques and written certification exam.
  • Other: Valid state driver’s license. Must meet state criminal background check requirements. Flexibility to work irregular hours as needed.
