City of New York in New York City is seeking an Assistant Civil Engineer to support the Capital Unit within Citywide Technical Services. You will assist in managing consultant contracts, develop drawings and estimates, and perform design calculations for water, sewer and green infrastructure projects.
The position involves coordinating permits, overseeing construction, and conducting site inspections, with opportunities to engage in interagency collaboration and reporting.
Within the division of Citywide Technical Services (CWS) the Capital Team works in direct partnership with Parks Operations, and other Agency Divisions, to assess, design and reconstruct facilities most in need of improvements. This unit has direct impact on neighborhood quality of life, resiliency, greenhouse gas emission reductions and fun for communities throughout the five boroughs of New York City.
A Motor Vehicle Driver’s License valid in the State of New York may be required for certain assignments. If required, this license must be maintained for duration of appointment.

Preference will be given to applicants who are permanent Assistant Civil Engineers or applicants who take the Assistant Civil Engineer Civil Service Examination (Exam No. 7006).
