Job summary

The City of Spokane seeks an Assistant City Prosecutor to handle criminal, traffic, and non-traffic offenses within Spokane Municipal Court. You will prepare and argue at hearings, interview witnesses, and draft legal documents while coordinating with police and other city departments.

Ideal candidates will have a JD, be in good standing with the WA State Bar, and demonstrate ability to manage a high-volume caseload with strong research and advocacy skills.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited law school with a Juris Doctorate.
• A member in good standing with the Washington State Bar Association.
• Ability to manage a high-volume caseload and conduct legal research with accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Prosecute criminal, civil traffic, and non-traffic offenses in Spokane.
• Prepare and argue at preliminary hearings and trials.
• Interview officers, witnesses, and victims to develop case facts.
• Draft criminal complaints and other legal documents; negotiate with defense.
• Supervise Rule 9 interns and collaborate with City departments.
