The City of Alexandria is seeking an Assistant City Engineer to supervise and perform advanced professional engineering work in planning, design, review, construction, and maintenance of transportation and drainage infrastructure. Requires PE license, Civil/Mechanical/Structural background, and strong project leadership in a municipal setting.
Salary ranges from $67,393.87 to $101,069.12 annually (Grade 35). 40-hour week; overtime may apply.

The City of Alexandria is seeking professional individuals to begin a career in the Engineering Department, located in the heart of Central Louisiana, to supervise and perform professional engineering work of an advanced level in the planning, design, plan review, construction, and maintenance of City transportation and drainage infrastructure under the direction of the City Engineer.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Civil, Mechanical, or Structural Engineering; supplemented by three (3) years of engineering experience as a Professional Engineer, preferably in civil engineering. Must possess and maintain a license as a Professional Engineer by the Louisiana State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors. Registered engineers from another state shall have one (1) year to become certified within the State of Louisiana. Must possess a valid driver's license. Will be required to obtain a valid State of Louisiana driver’s license at time of appointment and maintain throughout employment for this classification. May be required to obtain flood plain management certification.
